¡Qué triste! Tico murió tratando de proteger al perro de su mejor amigo en los incendios forestales de Hawái
El costarricense Franklin Trejos es una de las víctimas mortales de los incendios forestales de la isla Maui, en Hawái.
Un costarricense identificado como Franklin Trejos, se convirtió en una de las más de 100 personas que perdieron la vida producto de los incendios forestales en la isla Maui, en Hawái.
Según trascendido, Trejos estaba jubilado y tenía varios años de vivir en el lugar del siniestro, esto junto a su amigo, Geoff Bogar, a quien conocía desde hace 35 años.
La esposa de Bogar, Shannon, relató a varios de estos medios que ambos (los amigos) se habían quedado en Lahaina tratando de salvar la casa y ayudando a los ciudadanos para que evacuaran la zona, esto debido a que el fuego se intensificó el martes 8 de agosto tras el paso del huracán Dora.
La mujer cuenta que ella e encontraba fuera del pueblo, ya que estaba cuidando a su madre en otra zona, y que en un determinado momento cuando la situación se volvió peligrosa Bogar y Trejos se fueron a sus respectivos vehículos para evacuar.
Al parecer Bogar intentó prender su vehículo, pero al no lograrlo se escapó por la ventana sufriendo quemaduras, y fue cuando una patrulla de policía local lo encontró y lo trasladó a un hospital, donde le curaron las heridas.
En cuanto a Trejos, en apariencia al día siguiente de los hechos Bogar, volvió en busca de su amigo y se encontró con su automóvil en medio de la zona, y cuando revisó encontró los restos, junto a los de su mascota, ambos sin vida.
Trascendió que el costarricense falleció encima de “Sam”, tratándolo de protegerlo, según detallaron los medios internacionales.
“Él seguramente vio lo que pasaba, se pasó a la parte de atrás del carro y se echó encima del perro para protegerlo”, indicó la esposa de Bogar a los medios.
De momento se desconoce con certeza cómo ambos quedaron atrapados dentro del vehículo, pero la mujer asegura que el tico era un “buen hombre”.
