Torres reconoce que el joven hizo un campeonato espectacular.
Una de las grandes incógnitas y molestias que se generó en la afición del Deportivo Saprissa, tras el juego de este jueves 25 de mayo, ante la Liga Deportiva Alajuelense, por el primer partido de la gran final, fue la ausencia del joven delantero Warren Madrigal.
Madrigal, no estuvo presente en la convocatoria del técnico Vladimir Quesada, quien a sido atacado fuertemente y señalado como el responsable de la caída del Saprissa en este juego.
Y es que según una transmisión de FUTV, el delantero no fue llamado por decisión técnica, al igual que Christian Bolaños.
Mientras que el periodista Anthony Porras, de Deportivas Columbia, afirmó que Madrigal no fue tomado en cuenta porque “no ha marcado diferencia y se le han pedido cosas”, e indicó que Álvaro Zamora volvió a la titularidad “porque ha entrenando bien y se ganó el derecho de volver a la cancha”.
En cuanto a este tema, uno de los que se pronunció al respecto una vez que finalizó el partido fue el ídolo y capitán morado, Mariano Torres, quien reconoce que el joven hizo un campeonato espectacular, pero que en esta ocian le tocó quedar fuera.

Por otra parte, Torres, asegura que en el Saprissa hay muchas opciones de variante, que el plantel es bastante bueno, por lo que el técnico va viendo para cada partido lo que él considera que es mejor.
