Murió niña de 3 años a la que le cayó una olla con agua hirviendo
Según el director del hospital donde fue atendida la niña de 3 años, ella sufrió quemaduras en los brazos, piernas, tórax y partes íntimas.
Una tragedia ocurrida en Barranquilla ha conmovido a la sociedad colombiana en los últimos días. Una niña de 3 años falleció tras haber sufrido quemaduras en más de la mitad de su cuerpo, luego de que una olla con agua hirviendo cayera sobre ella. El trágico hecho ocurrió en su propia casa, ubicada en el barrio Barlovento.
Según la versión de sus padres, la niña entró a la cocina sin que nadie se diera cuenta y accidentalmente tumbó la olla, lo que provocó que todo el líquido caliente cayera sobre ella. La menor fue trasladada al Hospital Niño Jesús y después a la Clínica Reina Catalina, donde finalmente falleció debido a las graves quemaduras y la infección que desarrolló a causa de las mismas.
Jairo Quiroz, director médico de la Clínica Reina Catalina, explicó que las quemaduras abarcaban entre un 48% y 55% de la piel de la niña y afectaron su tórax, brazos, piernas y genitales. A pesar de haber recibido todos los tratamientos necesarios, no fue posible salvar su vida.
¿Cómo evitar accidentes caseros que involucran a niños?

3. Protección de enchufes
Los enchufes deben ser protegidos con tapones o cubiertas para evitar que los niños introduzcan objetos en ellos.
4. Tenga cuidado con las puertas
Las puertas pueden ser peligrosas para los dedos de los niños. Se pueden instalar protectores de puertas o usar dispositivos que mantengan las puertas abiertas.
5. Uso de cinturones de seguridad
Cuando se viaja en automóvil, los niños deben estar asegurados con cinturones de seguridad o sistemas de retención infantil apropiados para su edad y peso.
6. Mantener las áreas de juego seguras
Las áreas de juego deben estar diseñadas y mantenidas de manera segura. Las superficies deben ser blandas, como el caucho o la madera, y debe haber espacio suficiente entre los equipos.
7. Protección de ventanas
Las ventanas pueden ser peligrosas para los niños si no están aseguradas. Se pueden instalar rejas de seguridad o dispositivos que limiten la apertura de las mismas.
