Al parecer, la Biblia, como la conocemos ahora, no es una obra que esté del todo concluida, pues un científico ha reportado el impresionante hallazgo de lo que parece ser un fragmento perdido que se escribió hace más de 1500 años y que había permanecido oculto todo este tiempo.
El descubrimiento se publicó recientemente en la revista New Testament Studies, una publicación periódica de alcance internacional revisada por pares. En dicho reporte se informa que este manuscrito se encontró en una copia en pergamino del libro de los evangelios de la Biblioteca del Vaticano y se describe que se mantuvo oculto debido a que este estaba debajo de dos capas de escritura, ilegible a simple vista.
Pues bien, según reporta el medievalista Grigory Kessel, de la Academia Austriaca de Ciencias y autor del estudio, esto fue posible gracias a la fotografía ultravioleta, un proceso fotográfico que, como su nombra lo indica, hace uso exclusivamente de luz ultravioleta para la captura, lo que permite revelar cosas que a simple vista es imposible de ver.
Si ahora te estás preguntando de qué se trata el manuscrito que recientemente se encontró, esto realmente te sorprenderá, pues, según los informes, es la traducción siríaca del capítulo 11 a 12 del evangelio de Mateo, lo que constituye una de las primeras traducciones de los Evangelios, hecha en el siglo III.
De este modo, el reciente hallazgo se considera el cuarto testimonio textual «que da fe de la versión en siríaco antiguo y ofrece una puerta de entrada única a la fase más temprana en la historia de la transmisión textual de los Evangelios», según nos informa PHYSORG.
Así que, este manuscrito encontrado es la traducción original del Nuevo Testamento bíblico, el cual, debido a la escases de papel, luego de cientos de años se borró para ser que el pergamino fuera reutilizado, siendo de gran relevancia, pues podría proporcionar información valiosa sobre los primeros cristianos, entre otras cuestiones relacionadas, como ser una pieza clave para reconstruir el rompecabezas de la historia de la Biblia
