Sandra León, esposa del alcalde de San José, Johnny Araya, vivió momentos de tensión al ser sorprendida por las lluvias torrenciales que inundaron gran parte del área metropolitana de Miami, en Florida, Estados Unidos.
Según informó el medio El Observador, Noticias Telemundo entrevistó a varios vecinos afectados, entre ellos la costarricense.
Además, mostró una escalera usada por su yerno para ayudar a una mujer que tuvo problemas en su carro.
El alcalde Araya contó a El Observador que en medio del paseo la tormenta sorprendió a sus familiares y la casa donde estaban se vio afectada.
De acuerdo con la oficina de Migración y Extranjería, León salió del país desde el 6 de abril y no ha regresado.
Sandra León contrajo nupcias con Araya el 5 de julio del 2013.
Inundaciones récord en Fort Lauderdale, Florida, por lluvias torrenciales
Las lluvias torrenciales produjeron inundaciones récord en el área metropolitana de Miami, Florida, en donde las autoridades tuvieron que decretar el cierre de escuelas y del aeropuerto de Fort Lauderdale.
El miércoles pasado se registraron 635 milímetros de lluvia en menos de 24 horas en Fort Lauderdale, casi el doble del récord anterior en 1979.
