Tras no obtener los resultados deseados, Douglas Sequeira deja el Deportivo Mixco
El costarricense dirigía en Guatemala desde octubre del 2022.
Tal parece que la primera experiencia como entrenador a nivel internacional, le duró muy poco al técnico Douglas Sequeira, ya que este lunes renunció al banquillo del Deportivo Mixco de Guatemala, según indicaron algunos medios guatemaltecos.
Y es que según indicó una de las principales radios guatemaltecas, “Emisoras Unidas”, la renuncia de Sequeira se dio debido a los malos resultados que obtuvo con el club, y que los tiene cerca del descenso.
“De acuerdo con la información, el centroamericano renunció a la dirección técnica este lunes y no se presentó al entrenamiento de esta tarde, el cual fue dirigido por Roberto Castro, el asistente de Sequeira. La noticia se da luego de que Mixco solventó la fecha 11 en la cual obtuvo el triunfo 1-0 ante Santa Lucía Cotzumalguapa, rival directo en la disputa por el no descenso”, indicó el medio
Y es que a pesar de la victoria de la fecha 11, el costarricense no ha podido tener números buenos.
“Dirigió 11 compromisos en el Apertura 2022 con este balance: cinco derrotas, cinco empates y una victoria (3-0 a Deportivo Malacateco). En el Clausura 2023 (también 11 partidos), cosechó tres victorias, cuatro empates y cuatro derrotas”, publica Emisoras Unidas
Sin embargo, en otros medios manejan la versión de que a Sequeira lo despidieron y no que él renunció como es el caso de de Tigo Sport Guatemala, quiénes indican que la directiva del Mixco tomó la decisión de rescindirle el contrato a Sequiera y su asistente el también tico Roberto Castro.
Douglas llegó a Guatemala en octubre del 2022, luego de renunciar de la Asociación Deportiva San Carlos semanas antes.
