Después de 11 largos años un tico ganó la Carrera Internacional La Candelaria
El atleta tenía nueve años buscando este triunfo.
Tuvieron que pasar 11 largos años, para que un costarricense se coronara como ganador de la Carrera Internacional La Candelaria, y lo hizo en la edición 40, luego de a corredores élites de Centroamérica y a un atleta olímpico mexicano.
Se trata del corredor nacional Daniel Johanning, quién es del equipo Coopenae, y tras nueve años de buscar la victoria, finalmente acabó con la racha de 11 años sin triunfos para Costa Rica en esta legendaria competencia.
Asimismo, el atleta expresó que tenía un objetivo bastante claro, el cual era ganar esta carrera, para así devolverle ese puesto de privilegio a nuestro país.
“Muy contento porque nunca había podido ganarla y lo había intentado varias veces, aunque no fue fácil finalmente este año se pudo lograr. También me da mucha satisfacción que el triunfo se haya quedado en Costa Rica, la última vez que había ganado un tico fue en el 2012″, agregó.
