Joven de 15 años es reconocida por la NASA al descubrir un asteroide
Se trata de Juliana Terán, adolescente boliviana que descubrió un nuevo asteroide llamado ‘2022 GX13’.
Una joven de tan solo 15 años acaba de marcar un hito espacial: Se trata de Juliana Terán, adolescente boliviana que descubrió un nuevo asteroide llamado «2022 GX13″.
Su hallazgo fue reconocido por la Administración Nacional de Aeronáutica y el Espacio (NASA), organismo que la certificó con un diploma por tal descubrimiento.
La historia de esta joven comenzó cuando fue invitada por un docente del colegio María Auxiliadora en Potosí, a participar de un curso en la Campaña de Búsqueda de Asteroides de la NASA, a comienzos de este 2022.
Sin tener conocimientos previos, su profesor le enseñó lo básico, principalmente, el uso de un programa de “astrométrica», donde Terán junto a sus compañeros analizaban fotos que les llegaban desde observatorios de Miami, en Estados Unidos.

«Me tomó mucho tiempo, porque para analizar cada set tenía que hacer un zoom extremo para ver cada detalle de las fotos que nos enviaban de Miami”, comenzó señalando la joven a medios internacionales.
Actualmente, la NASA está estudiando en qué orbita se encuentra este asteroide, cuyo hallazgo fue confirmado y revisado por expertos de la propia agencia espacial.
“Incluso hubo noches que no dormía porque tenía que balancear el colegio con la campaña. Se me dificultaba, pero ¡lo logré!”, afirmó la adolescente.
