Padre Sixto Varela ya puede ejercer nuevamente su sacerdocio
El sacerdote fue nombrado en la parroquia de San Ramón.
Desde hace varios meses el padre Sixto Varela Santamaría había quedado inhabilitado para ejercer su sacerdocio, esto por directriz del Vaticano debido a una investigación que había en su contra.
Sin embargo, según dio a conocer el mismo Varela el paso 18 de noviembre, por medio de una publicación en redes sociales ya quedó liberado y puede ejercer, esto después de que el obispo de Alajuela, monseñor Bartolomé Buigues Oller, le levantó la restricción y lo nombró en la parroquia de San Ramón.
“El 23 de julio peregrinamos a tu santuario (el de la Negrita de Los Ángeles, en Cartago) para pedirle auxilio, madrecita santa. Hoy he venido a darte gracias por tu intercesión y porque ya puedo ejercer mi sacerdocio en mi propia parroquia de origen”, escribió en Facebook Varela.
Según le habían indicado al padre en febrero “En tanto dure el proceso canónico se dio cautelarmente la limitación del ministerio público, permaneciendo en su casa de habitación”, según decía el documento con sello de la curia diocesana de Alajuela
Con respecto al tema de la suspensión, cuando se había dado la primera en agosto del 2021, la Curia indicó que se daba por celebrar la misa en latín, y hacerlo de esta manera estaba prohibido en el país desde julio del año anterior.
