Por primera vez y de forma oficial Costa Rica celebrará este año el Día de Acción de Gracias
¿Será feriado?
Costa Rica celebrará este 2022 por primera vez y de forma oficial el Día de Acción de Gracias.
Esta nueva legislación es de un solo artículo que indica lo siguiente: “Se declara el último jueves de noviembre de cada año el Día de Acción de Gracias de Costa Rica. Tendrá el objetivo de fortalecer los valores familiares, la convivencia pacífica y la atracción de turistas que buscan conmemorar esa fecha fuera de su país”.
El proyecto fue presentado por el exdiputado Jonathan Prendas del bloque de Nueva República y se aprobó en marzo de 2022 durante la legislatura constitucional 2018-2022, pero fue hasta este miércoles cuando se publicó el texto como la Ley 10179 en el diario oficial La Gaceta.
Al presentar la iniciativa, el 27 de noviembre del año anterior, Prendas indicó en las redes sociales: “El artículo 51 de la Constitución Política de nuestro país es claro al definir a la familia como centro de la sociedad y que tiene el derecho de recibir protección del Estado. Es por ese mandato que estoy presentando, en conjunto con diputados de Nueva República y otras fracciones, un proyecto de ley para declarar el último jueves de noviembre de cada año como el “Día de Acción de Gracias”.
“Esta festividad no será feriado ni tendrá un recargo para el sector público o privado, sino que busca sentar las bases para la promoción de los valores familiares en el país a través de la cual estamos convencidos que será impactada positivamente la sociedad ”, agregó.
El diputado señaló que: “Tradicionalmente, esa fecha también es el inicio simbólico de la temporada alta del turismo, por lo que no dudamos que esta declaratoria servirá para aumentar los beneficios de la oferta turística nacional e internacional, así como de las acciones dinamizadoras de restaurantes y del comercio en general”.
“Nueva República desea un país próspero por eso considera que dar gracias en el seno de cada hogar no solo vendrá a sanear a la sociedad sino que será una oportunidad para crecer como país”, finalizó Prendas.
¿Será feriado?
La celebración del ‘Thanksgiving Day’ es realizada el cuarto jueves de cada noviembre por las familias estadounidenses. Incluso en ese país ese día es feriado.
Este 2022 la festividad se celebrará en Costa Rica el 24 de noviembre. Sin embargo, cabe aclarar que no se trata de un día feriado para los ticos.
