Rodrigo Chaves: “La marca Costa Rica rima solo con las mejores empresas del mundo”
En su visita a Suiza el presidente se reunió con los CEOs de algunas de las empresas más grandes del mundo y los invitó a invertir en el país.
El presidente de la República, Rodrigo Chaves Robles, finalizó su participación en el Foro Económico Mundial en Davos, Suiza.
Chaves sostuvo varias reuniones con los jefes de estado, cancilleres y ministros de Comercio Exterior de las naciones que formaron parte de este encuentro.
La misión principal con la que partió el mandatario hacia a Davos, Suiza fue posicionar la marca Costa Rica como un lugar donde los inversionistas pueden traer sus empresas, y así generar más y mejores empleos.
“Vinimos a Suiza a servir al pueblo de Costa Rica ¿Cómo? Trayendo inversión, empleo, posicionando la marca Costa Rica como una marca de valor internacional y a la cual las empresas más grandes y prestigiosas del mundo deben asociar sus nombres. Tenemos resultados concretos, al menos tres CEOs (gerentes generales) que visitarán Costa Rica en los próximos meses y yo me comprometí a atenderlos personalmente”, indicó Chaves.
El mandatario detalló el perfil de las empresas que se espera se establezcan en el país: “Son de tecnología, hotelería, turismo, farmacéuticos, el tipo de empresas que necesitamos porque son de altísimo valor agregado, ahí es dónde está la plata y dónde están los mejores trabajos”, dijo.
“Nos hemos reunido con los CEO, las máximas autoridades de las empresas más grandes del mundo, como Marriott, como Hewlett-Packard, Honeywell, diciéndoles para citar solo unos ejemplos, en Costa Rica ya no hay trabas lo que hay es alfombra roja, y lo han tomado muy bien, ellos saben que la marca Costa Rica rima solo con las mejores empresas del mundo”, agregó.
El presidente confesó que tiene un ejemplo internacional hacia el cual quiere dirigir al país.
“El sueño es convertir a Costa Rica en una suerte de Singapur de América Central. Eso significa alto valor agregado, tecnología, innovación, habilidades técnicas elevadas, que pagan altos salarios y que producen encadenamientos que benefician a todo el país”, manifestó.
En el Foro también participó el ministro de Comercio Exterior, Manuel Tovar Rivera y el ministro de Relaciones Exteriores, Arnoldo André Tinoco.
“Hemos podido compartir y dialogar con conversaciones muy francas y directas con inversionistas que ya están operando en el país y con otros inversionistas que tienen el interés de establecerse en Costa Rica. Hemos tenido una acogida muy positiva, el mensaje del presidente Chaves es muy claro, Costa Rica está abierta para negocios, obviamente respetando la Ley, el Estado de Derecho y respetando los estándares laborales y ambientales en las que Costa Rica destaca”, indicó Tovar.
Los jerarcas aprovecharon el nombre que tiene Costa Rica en el mundo para vender la posibilidad de hacer del país una fuente de mano de obra para transnacionales que apunten al mercado centroamericano.
“Altamente positiva la visita y el esfuerzo que hemos hecho por reunirnos con múltiples naciones, pero además de ellas con grandes compañías internacionales. El nombre de Costa Rica es un nombre fuerte, de liderazgo en varios temas y la comunidad internacional reconoce el liderazgo en materias como Derechos Humanos, Democracia y luchas contra el Cambio Climático”, finalizó el canciller André.
