Refugiados nicaragüenses dan un giro a sus vidas gracias a las becas de universidad costarricense
En la siguiente nota le contamos cuáles son los requisitos para acceder a una de las becas.
Cientos de nicaragüenses que se vieron atrapados por la crisis política que se vive en su país decidieron refugiarse en Costa Rica para iniciar una nueva vida.
La mayoría de exiliados no cuenta con recursos económicos para poner a sus hijos a estudiar, pero eso no ha sido impedimento para que los jóvenes se superen en suelo costarricense.
Varias universidades del país ofrecen becas a personas que necesitan protección internacional y carecen de recursos.
Entre ellas está la Universidad Latinoamericana de Ciencia y Tecnología (ULACIT) que mediante el programa llamado Liderazgo cubre el 100 % de los gastos en colegiatura.
El propósito del programa es seleccionar a estudiantes que sobresalen en diversos ámbitos.
Según recoge una información de diario La Teja, de las 20 categorías de becas con las que cuenta la ULACIT dos de ellas están diseñadas para población la refugiada: la beca para personas refugiadas y la beca HUG (Humanitarian University Grants).
¿Cuáles son los requisitos?
Los interesados en postularse para una beca en ULACIT deben presentar la copia del carné de refugiado otorgado por la Dirección General de Migración y Extranjería (DGME).
También deben adjuntar la copia del pasaporte, la certificación de calificaciones con la equivalencia de las notas con base en 100. Se toman en cuenta todas las calificaciones incluidas en la certificación.
Es importante mencionar que estas becas aplican solo para los estudiantes de primer ingreso o que deseen matricular un segundo programa.
No aplica para estudiantes regulares de ULACIT y tampoco para cursar maestrías, micromasters, ni para las especialidades en Derecho Notarial y Registral, en Odontología General y en Ortodoncia y Ortopedia Funcional.
