CNE declara alerta amarilla en Santa Cruz y Carrillo por incendios forestales
El área afectada comprende más de 10 mil hectáreas.
La Comisión Nacional de Emergencias (CNE) reportó que hay alerta amarilla en los cantones de Santa Cruz y Carrillo, en Guanacaste, debido a la temporada seca y a los incendios forestales que se han presentado en los últimos días en la zona.
Además la entidad decretó alerta naranja en los distritos de Tempate, Cabo Velas, en el cantón de Santa Cruz, y Sardinal, en cantón de Carrillo.
“Durante el mes de febrero del 2022, debido a la época seca, principalmente en la provincia de Guanacaste y particularmente en los cantones de Santa Cruz y Carrillo, se han dado de forma atípica una serie de incendios forestales, los cuales han afectado diferentes tipos de vegetación (bosques, tacotales, charrales, pastos con árboles o solo pastos) fauna silvestre, lo que conlleva un alto impacto ambiental, en cultivos, plantaciones forestales e infraestructura. Se estima a la fecha que aproximadamente no menos de 10.000 hectáreas de terreno han sido afectadas”, indicó la CNE por medio de un boletín de prensa.
“Los incendios forestales han encontrado las condiciones propicias para su propagación debido a los fuertes vientos que se han presentado sobre el país desde inicios del mes de febrero, sumado a la baja humedad relativa, altas temperaturas y topografía que se encuentra en las zonas costeras de los cantones de Santa Cruz y Carrillo, permitiendo un comportamiento extremo de cada uno de los incendios forestales y donde algunos de ellos se han llegado a unir, lo que conlleva una atención más compleja lo que permita lograr su extinción”, agregó.
La entidad indicó que por la cantidad, comportamiento y complejidad de los incendios forestales presentados, se requiere de una mayor movilización de recursos para lograr poder extinguir lo más pronto posible los incendios que se encuentran activos, así como una articulación de las instituciones del Sistema Nacional de Gestión del Riesgo.
