Tico se nacionalizó ucraniano, ahora sus familiares temen que pueda ser llamado al ejército
Sebastián Fallas está casado con una ucraniana con la que tuvo un hijo y vive en el país europeo desde hace tres años.
Es un hecho terrible que no es ajeno a ninguna nación. La guerra se desató en Ucrania con la invasión de Rusia y la situación es muy preocupante para la población del país europeo donde precisamente reside Sebastián Fallas, un costarricense originario de Alajuelita de 33 años.
Según recoge una publicación de diario La Teja, Fallas, conoció en Costa Rica a la ucraniana Svitlana Olifirova quien vino al país a trabajar.
Ambos iniciaron una relación amorosa y en 2014 decidieron casarse. Fruto de su amor nació Gabriel en diciembre de 2017.
Hace tres años la familia Fallas Olifirova decidió viajar a Ucrania para unas vacaciones, pero decidieron instalarse en el país liderado por Volodymir Zelensky. El tico consiguió trabajo en un centro de llamadas.
Tras estallar el conflicto bélico entre Rusia y Ucrania Sebastián, su esposa y su hijo se encuentran refugiados en su hogar, ubicado en la región de Boryspil, en la capital Kiev, y no pueden salir ni para ir al supermercado, porque así lo establece la ley marcial.
Los bombardeos y el paso de los aviones de guerra, los tiene asustados, tensos y llenos de angustia.
La Teja conversó con doña Virginia Soto, madre de Sebastián, quien confesó que desde la madrugada del jueves, cuando Rusia lanzó la invasión masiva contra Ucrania, perdió la paz.
“No puedo ni dormir pensando en todo lo que está pasando, estamos orando mucho para que todo se calme, tengo la fe de que Dios va a cuidar a mi hijo y a su familia”, indicó la angustiada madre.
“Yo tuve la oportunidad de ir a Ucrania hace dos años y es tan lindo, hay tanta belleza, a mí me gustó mucho la forma de vida, la gente, la gastronomía, todo. Es difícil creer que ese lugar tan lindo que conocí ahora esté viviendo una situación tan tensa y peligrosa”, agregó.
Temen que pueda ser llamado por el ejército
A la preocupación de la familia por la seguridad de Sebastián y su familia se suma otra: podría ser llamado por el ejército para pelear en la guerra ya que hace poco recibió la ciudadanía del país europeo.
¿Por qué? El presidente de Ucrania decretó el jueves la movilización general de sus reclutas ante la invasión rusa, lo que implica que todos los ciudadanos hombres entre 18 y 60 años tienen prohibida la salida del país.
La medida afectará a las personas sometidas al servicio militar obligatorio y a los reservistas, se mantendrá en vigor durante 90 días en todas las regiones del país, indicó el decreto que fue publicado en la página web del Gobierno ucraniano.
La hermana de Sebastián, Witney Fallas, contó al rotativo que no tienen claro si esa si esa directriz incluye a su pariente, pero temen que sí por ser un ciudadano nacionalizado.
“Hay muchas cosas inciertas, el solo hecho de pensar que podrían llamar a mi hermano para luchar nos preocupa muchísimo, hay que ver cómo avanza la situación”, indicó.
Witney recordó que antes de que se diera la invasión aconsejó a su hermano salir del país con su familia por las amenazas de Vladimir Putín, pero el tico no lo creyó necesario.
“Cuando le decía que parecía que Rusia iba a atacar, él decía que no creía que llegara a tanto, que las amenazas se iban a quedar hasta ahí. La impresión que tengo es que todos allá, hasta el Gobierno, estaban confiados de que no iba a haber ataques, hasta el momento en que cayó el primer misil se dieron cuenta de la gravedad de la situación”, dijo la preocupada hermana.
