Sustitución de puente que colapsó en Matina costará ₡700 millones
Se estima que este mes inicie la construcción de la nueva estructura.
La Municipalidad de Matina se pronunció en sus redes sociales sobre el colapso del puente colgante en la localidad de Chumico sobre el río Zent el pasado 1° de enero.
El ayuntamiento aseguró que contrataron los estudios técnicos para construir una nueva estructura y realizar un mantenimiento rutinario para la existente. Estiman que en este mes de enero inicie la construcción de la nueva estructura por un monto de ₡700 millones.
El gobierno local indicó que la obra se encontraba dañada desde hace dos años y aseguró que colapsó ante el mal uso y una sobre carga.
“Este percance se dio por una simple irresponsabilidad digo yo. Yo paso mucho tiempo acá y me han recetado hasta bala por llamar la atención a la gente que llega a disfrutar en el río y para ellos es una gran diversión subirse al puente 15, 20 personas y hasta comienzan a mecer el puente y al llamarles la atención se comportan muy mal”, aseguró el presidente municipal, Alfredo Wheathey, a Noticias Columbia.
“Ningún habitante de Chumico estaba en el puente por qué porque nosotros sabemos que el puente tiene su capacidad. Cuando estaba nuevo la capacidad era de 10 personas ahora teniendo tantos años de servicio de ese puente si hablamos de capacidad podrá ser unas 6 personas. Todos los accidentados son gente de afuera y cada persona que estaba en ese accidente estaba violentando la reglamentación del puente porque hay una placa en el puente que dice la capacidad”, agregó.
El puente une la comunidad de Palestina con Chumico.
Colapso
La caída del puente colgante sobre el río Zent sucedió el pasado sábado 1° de enero cuando, en apariencia, unas 30 personas estaban sobre él.
Las personas involucradas en el suceso cayeron al río cuando la estructura cedió, entre ellas un menor de edad y una mujer embarazada.
Producto del colapso 7 personas fueron remitidas en condición estable a la Clínica de Batán, y una mujer fue trasladada en condición delicada al Hospital Tony Facio, en Limón.
