(Fotos) NASA destaca récord de vuelos espaciales de Franklin Chang-Díaz
El astronauta costarricense viajó en siete misiones de los transbordadores de la NASA.
El perfil NASA History de la Administración Nacional de Aeronáutica y el Espacio, más conocida como NASA (por sus siglas en inglés, National Aeronautics and Space Administration) realizó una publicación en honor al astronauta costarricense Franklin Chang-Díaz.
“¿Sabías que Frank Chang-Diaz, el primer astronauta hispano de la NASA, está empatado en el récord de la mayoría de los vuelos espaciales? ¡Logró más de 1.500 horas en el espacio durante 7 vuelos espaciales!” dice la publicación que se complementa con históricas fotografías del tico.
Franklin Chang-Díaz fue el primer inmigrante hispano en viajar al espacio, en 1986, y comparte el récord de siete misiones en los transbordadores de la NASA. Hijo de padre de origen chino y madre costarricense, es ingeniero mecánico, físico y miembro del Salón de la Fama de Astronautas.
