Fallece el actor Ed Asner, ‘Carl Fredricksen’ de la película ‘Up’, a los 91 años
El actor más premiado en la historia de los Emmy murió este domingo en California, Estados Unidos, rodeado de su familia.
El actor Ed Asner, ganador de siete premios Emmy, falleció este domingo a los 91 años de edad.
La noticia fue confirmada por los hijos del actor quienes por medio de la cuenta de Twitter de Asner publicaron un comunicado de prensa.

Su publicista indicó que el prolífico actor murió por causas naturales.
Asner se dio a conocer inicialmente como el jefe Lou Grant en el “Mary Tyler Moore Show”, icónico programa de televisión que se emitió entre 1970 y 1977, y más tarde en una secuela basada en su personaje. Ganó tres de sus siete Emmys en ese rol, uno por un papel cómico y otro dramático.
Asner también conquistó a una generación de seguidores en otro papel de hombre rudo con corazón de oro: el viudo Carl Fredricksen en la película animada “Up” en 2009.
Más allá de aquel mítico papel, Asner, fue el ganador de cinco Globos de Oro y siete Premios Emmy, además de expresidente de la Screen Actors Guild, el sindicato estadounidense que representa a unos 120.000 actores de cine y televisión de todo el mundo. Acumuló más de 300 actuaciones entre cine y televisión.
Nacido el 15 de noviembre de 1929 en Kansas City, fue un también un activista liberal y participó en protestas a favor de los sindicatos y en contra de la pena de muerte.
