Tokyo 2020: ¡Orgullo tico! Andrea Vargas gana su heat y avanza a las semifinales
La atleta costarricense logró la segunda mejor marca de su carrera.

La costarricense Andrea Vargas no deja de darle alegrías al país. La atleta avanzó a semifinales de los 100 metros con vallas en los Juegos Olímpicos Tokyo 2020.
Vargas, de 25 años, compitió en el heat 1, de 5, y se dejó el primer puesto con un tiempo de 12.71.
La joven, oriunda de Puriscal, llegó a esta serie siendo la tercera atleta con mejor ranking mundial, al ocupar el puesto 9.
Vargas logró su calificación a las justas olímpicas en los Panamericanos de Lima 2019 donde obtuvo su mejor marca personal de ese momento con 12.75 en los 100 metros vallas, sin embargo, fue en el Mundial de Doha, ese mismo año, donde realizó su mejor tiempo: 12.64.
