Diputado impulsa proyecto de benemeritazgo para Alejandro Morera Soto
La iniciativa para declarar al “Mago del Balón” como Benemérito ya había sido presentada en 2009 y en 2014.
Por tercera vez un proyecto de ley buscará declarar al exjugador de la Liga Deportiva Alajuelense (LDA) y del F.C Barcelona, Alejandro Morera Soto “El Mago del Balón”, como Benemérito de la Patria.
La iniciativa ya se había propuesto en 2009 y en 2014. Ahora en 2021 cinco diputados quieren retomar el proyecto.
“Alejandro Morera Soto mucha gente lo conoce como futbolista y de hecho fue un hombre que representó a nuestro país en gran manera, pero a parte de eso fue diputado, fue alcalde, fue gobernador, logró grandes cosas para la provincia de Alajuela como un préstamo de $300 mil para meter luz eléctrica en las zonas rurales y muchas cosas”, aseguró Gómez a Noticias Monumental.
“Ahí es donde yo me impulso para presentarlo como un Benemérito de la Patria, por sus grandes logros no solo como futbolista sino ahí lo vemos en la parte política y trabajando en la parte social”, agregó.
Alejandro Morera Soto fue el primer centroamericano en jugar en Europa. En 1998 fue elegido futbolista costarricense del siglo, según la Federación Internacional de Historia y Estadísticas de Fútbol, con sede en Wiesbaden, Alemania.
Morera Soto fue diputado por la provincia de Alajuela durante la administración de Mario Echandi (1958-1962). Luego fue gobernador y ejecutivo municipal de Alajuela (1966-1970).
