“Seguiremos nuestra lucha legal”: Abogados de María Luisa Cedeño
Fiscalía y familia apelarán absolutoria de acusados.
La Fiscalía de Quepos y Parrita apelará la absolutoria que se dictó el pasado 21 de abril a favor de dos de los acusados de asesinar a la doctora María Luisa Cedeño en el hotel La Mansion Inn, en Quepos, en julio del 2020.
La información fue confirmada por las autoridades a Sinart Digital.
Contra ellos, la Fiscalía pedía 83 años de cárcel por los delitos de homicidio calificado y violación. Sin embargo, el Tribuna decidió absolverlos por dudas.
Suerte contraria corrió Teodoro Herrera Martínez, quien era el tercer y último acusado de este homicidio. Los jueces le impusieron 50 años de prisión, con lo que también se apartaron de la solicitud de la Fiscalía (89 años de encarcelamiento).
Sin embargo, después de revisar minuciosamente la sentencia completa, abogados y parientes, llegaron a la conclusión de que “no había forma posible de negarse a formular el respectivo Recurso de Apelación”.
“Los fallos de la sentencia son notorios y evidentes, lo cual, por supuesto lamentamos por las consecuencias que esto podría traer al proceso, pero no sería correcto, ni como asesores legales, ni como ciudadanos, que sentencias así sean validadas, sin ser al menos objetadas”, afirmaron los representantes legales a Noticias Columbia.
“Por la memoria de la Dra. Cedeño, seguiremos nuestra lucha legal”, finalizaron.
