Médico interno que laboraba en el Hospital de Niños fallece por Covid-19
Joven de 32 años murió tras estar dos meses internado en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del Hospital Calderón Guardia.
Un joven de 32 años estudiante de medicina que realizaba el internado en el Hospital Nacional de Niños (HNN), falleció por causas relacionadas a la Covid-19.
Se trata de un alumno de la Universidad de Iberoamérica (Unibe), quien murió la mañana de este martes 5 de octubre tras permanecer dos meses internado en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI) del Hospital Calderón Guardia (HCG) a raíz de una infección causada por el virus.
Además, el medio señala que el estudiante de último año tenía oxigenación por membrana extracorpórea (ECMO), debido a los daños que el virus SARS-CoV-2 causó en sus pulmones.
“El Hospital Nacional de Niños y el Cendeisss lamentan profundamente el fallecimiento de un estudiante del internado de medicina, de 32 años, que falleció, esta semana, en el Hospital Calderón Guardia, debido a complicaciones derivadas de COVID-19. Por respeto a la familia no se pueden brindar más detalles”, informó la Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS).
