El alcalde de Cartago fue uno de los detenidos por el caso Diamante
El alcalde del cantón central de Cartago, Mario Redondo, fue parte de los funcionarios detenidos la mañana de este lunes como parte de las investigaciones por el caso Diamante.
A la salida de su casa de habitación, que fue uno de los puntos allanados, Redondo aseguró a varios periodistas presentes: “Soy inocente, yo no he arreglado absolutamente nada”.
El caso
La operación policial se denomina caso Diamante, y en ella se detuvo a cinco alcaldes: Johnny Araya, de San José, Mario Redondo, de Cartago; Alfredo Córdoba, de San Carlos; Humberto Soto, de Alajuela; y Alberto Cole, de Osa.
Como parte de las pesquisas también se realizaron allanamientos en las municipalidades de: San José, Escazú, Alajuela, Cartago, Puntarenas, Osa, Golfito, San Carlos y Siquirres además en casas de habitación de personas aparentemente involucradas y oficinas institucionales del Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Transportes (MOPT).
