Guardacostas rescataron a dos personas y a un perro tras el naufragio de un velero en Guanacaste
Los fuertes vientos pudieron ser los causantes del accidente acuático.
La tarde de este jueves 8 de diciembre, los Oficiales del Servicio Nacional de Guardacostas (SNG), dieron con el rescate de dos personas y su mascota, luego de que el bote tipo velero en el que viajaban naufragara en Santa Cruz de Guanacaste.
Según trascendió los oficiales del SNG mientras realizan un patrullaje preventivo por la zona de playa Danta, observaron que el velero presentaba “problemas de flotabilidad”.
Al acercarse al bote, lograron notar que estaba semihundida, y que, además, sus dos tripulantes quienes portaban chalecos salvavidas y un perro flotaban sobre la estructura de la misma, por lo que los subieron al barco para ponerlos a salvo.
En cuanto a las personas rescatadas, según dio a conocer el Ministerio de Seguridad Pública, fueron identificados como Glen Stokes, de nacionalidad inglesa de 58 años, y una costarricense llamada Diana Fuentes de 35.
Con respecto al velero, las autoridades indican que son propensos a sufrir accidentes cuando hay fuerte vientos golpeando, como este jueves que la velocidad del viento era de nueve nudos (16 kilómetros por hora (km/h)), lo cual pudo provocar que se quebrara la base del bote, generando el incidente.
Razón por la cual los oficiales hacen un llamado a la población a ser precavidos si salen a navegar y tomar en cuenta las condiciones del tiempo, además, de siempre portar los implementos de seguridad y comunicación correspondientes.
