Dictan 18 años de cárcel para asaltantes que mataron a joyero en Cartago
Los hechos se dieron en noviembre del año anterior.
El Tribunal Penal de Cartago tenía programado para este 19 y hasta el 22 de diciembre, el juicio por la muerte de un reconocido joyero cartaginés, en el cual tres sospechosos se sentarían en el banquillo de los acusados por este crimen, sin embargo, dos de los imputados aceptaron un procedimiento especial abreviado, por lo que ya fueron condenados.
Dichos sujetos recibieron la sentencia de 18 años de cárcel por asesinar al comerciante durante un asalto al local comercial, esto el 11 de noviembre del 2021, en las inmediaciones de la Plaza Mayor de Cartago, y al declararse culpables, los hombres ya no deberán participar de un debate oral y público.
Con respecto al tercer sospechoso, no se presentó a la audiencia de apertura del debate, por lo que deberá enfrentar el juicio y, además, fue declarado como rebelde y las autoridades giraron una orden de captura en su contra.
El Tribunal Penal por su parte ahora deberá homologar los procedimientos abreviados y dictar sentencia contra los imputados que se sometieron a este mecanismo.
Con respecto al joyero fallecido este fue identificado como Franklin Serrano Bravo de 62 años, quien el día de su asesinato recibió varios impactos de bala.
En aquel momento tanto el Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ), así como el Ministerio de Seguridad, indicaron que los asaltantes no lograron llevarse ninguna pertenencia de la joyería, pero si le decomisaron un arma a uno de ellos.
Asimismo, había trascendido que a los sospechosos los esperaba un vehículo a unos 25 metros del lugar de los hechos, pero al intentar huir no lograron abordarlo por lo que tuvieron que correr, siendo detenido a unos 200 metros de distancia del lugar, en cuanto al conductor del carro, también fue detenido por las autoridades.

De momento las autoridades no han brindado oficialmente los nombre de los sentenciados.
