Caso Piazza: Grupo narco habría usado supermercados para ocultar las ganancias que obtenían de manera ilícita
La agrupación criminal es investigada desde el año 2021.
Según explicó Michael Soto, subdirector del Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ), la banda criminal desarticulada este lunes 27 de noviembre por medio de 30 allanamientos, habría utilizando unos supermercados que fueron muy conocidos en su tiempo, para ocultar las ganancias que obtenían de manera ilícita por el narcotráfico.
Esta banda que en apariencia es liderada por tres hermanos de apellidos Estupiñán Montaño, además, de dichos establecimientos, también habían adquirido un taller de embarcaciones en Jacó, así como una estación de servicio y un lubricentro en Santo Domingo de Heredia, lugares que obtuvieron producto del dinero que al parecer estaban generando con el tráfico de marihuana y cocaína que eran traídas desde Colombia.
Asimismo, el OIJ informó que este grupo se dedicaba a transportar en lanchas rápidas cargamentos de cocaína y marihuana desde Colombia, los cuales eran recibidos en el Pacífico Central de nuestro país.
Ambas drogas posteriormente eran llevadas hasta la capital, donde la marihuana era distribuida en el mercado local, mientras que la cocaína en apariencia salía a países del norte del continente o a Europa.
