Ministerio de Salud está investigando 3 casos por posible reinfección por COVID-19 en Costa Rica
Según el informe, uno de esos pacientes se reporta como fallecido.
Este pasado miércoles, el Ministerio de Salud confirmó que mantiene bajo análisis a pacientes positivos de COVID-19 por una posible reinfección de la enfermedad.
La información la dio a conocer la oficina de prensa del Ministerio de Salud, tras una consulta realizada por Teletica.com
Según el informe, uno de esos pacientes se reporta como fallecido; sin embargo, no brindaron más detalles.
‘’Dicho análisis es detallado y minucioso, dado la información que constantemente surge de la enfermedad, así como los casos de personas que perduran por varias semanas con síntomas o presencia del virus’’, indicaron las autoridades.
Casos de reinfección de coronavirus documentados
En agosto, médicos informaron que un hombre de Nevada de 25 años parecía ser el primer caso documentado de reinfección por covid-19 en Estados Unidos. El paciente fue diagnosticado por primera vez con covid-19 en abril. Y, después de mejorar y de dar negativo dos veces, resultó positivo por el virus un poco más de un mes después.
Un equipo distinto de investigadores informó en agosto que un hombre de 33 años que vivía en Hong Kong había tenido covid-19 dos veces este año: en marzo y agosto.
Y antes este año, una mujer holandesa de 89 años, que también padecía de un cáncer de glóbulos blancos poco común, murió después de contraer covid-19 dos veces, dijeron expertos. Ella es la primera y única persona que se conoce que murió después de reinfectarse.
Si bien es posible que ocurra reinfección del virus, todavía hay preguntas que los científicos tratan de responder, incluyendo quién tiene más probabilidades de volver a contagiarse y cuánto tiempo protegen los anticuerpos a las personas de una reinfección de coronavirus.
