Sala IV condena a Chaves tras llamar a periodistas de CRHoy “sicarios políticos”
“La utilización de un lenguaje irrespetuoso y ofensivo contra los periodistas constituye una lesión a la libertad de prensa”, determinó la Sala Constitucional.
La Sala Constitucional condenó al presidente de la República, Rodrigo Chaves Robles, tras llamar a periodistas del medio digital CRHoy.com “sicarios políticos”.
La frase del mandatario surgió durante una conferencia de prensa el pasado 9 de enero donde aseguró que a la exministra de Salud, Joselyn Chacón: “ la atacaron sin piedad dos sicarios de CRHoy”, en referencia a los ataques que sufrió la doctora por parte de dicho medio.
La Sala IV determinó que: “ciertas expresiones y vocablos usados por los funcionarios no se justifican y sí constituyen un exceso por lo que podría promover el hostigamiento contra los medios y periodistas aludidos”.
“La utilización de un lenguaje irrespetuoso y ofensivo contra los periodistas constituye una lesión a la libertad de prensa, de ahí que por unanimidad los magistrados declararon parcialmente con lugar el recurso de amparo únicamente para efectos indemnizatorios”, determinó la Sala IV.
