Pastor implicado en lavado de dinero para cartel narco: Operación Shark desmantela red criminal
Una intensa operación dirigida por el Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ) está en marcha para desarticular una compleja red de tráfico internacional de drogas. La operación, denominada Shark, se enfoca en la detención de 11 personas vinculadas a una de las organizaciones criminales más buscadas por la DEA, cuyo líder figura entre los 50 fugitivos más buscados por la agencia estadounidense.
Entre los arrestados se encuentra un pastor, quien presuntamente desempeñó un rol crucial en el lavado de dinero para el grupo narcotraficante. Randall Zúñiga, director del OIJ, confirmó que el clérigo utilizaba fondos provenientes del grupo criminal, ocultándolos bajo el pretexto de donaciones a su congregación durante los 24 allanamientos efectuados en San José, Alajuela y la Zona Sur.
La operación también ha llevado a la captura de dos gerentes bancarios del Banco de Costa Rica (BCR), específicamente de las sucursales de Santa Rosa de Pocosol y Río Cuarto. Según Zúñiga, estos empleados bancarios, junto con el tesorero del grupo, ayudaron a legitimar las ganancias ilícitas a través del sistema bancario nacional.
La banda criminal, originaria de Colombia, no solo traficaba drogas hacia Europa desde el puerto de Limón, sino que también blanqueaba sus ganancias con la ayuda de estos colaboradores. Hasta ahora, las autoridades han decomisado 34 vehículos valorados en más de 500 millones de colones, además de intervenir 16 propiedades y 12 sociedades relacionadas con el grupo.
