MOPT anuncia que colocará separadores viales en estas provincias
Se espera que la instalación de los nuevos dispositivos se lleve a cabo en el segundo semestre de este año.
El Ministerio de Obras Públicas de Transportes (MOPT), se prepara para instalar más separadores viales en las carreteras del país durante los próximos meses.
Incluso, alista una segunda contratación para colocar los dispositivos en más rutas de San José y también en Heredia y Cartago.
De acuerdo con las autoridades de Ingeniería de Tránsito, si los conductores poseen buenas prácticas de manejo no tienen por qué verse afectados por la instalación de los nuevos dispositivos.
“Para el presente año se pretende continuar con la colocación de separadores en varios lugares de San José, Heredia y Cartago. Los lugares específicos serán comunicados en su momento cuando se realice la publicación del cartel de licitación. Se espera que la colocación de los nuevos dispositivos se lleve a cabo en el segundo semestre del presente año”, indicó la entidad.
MOPT defiende colocación de nuevos separadores pese a accidentes
Pese a las decenas de accidentes de tránsito que se han registrado en las vías donde se instalaron los nuevos separadores, autoridades del MOPT defienden la colocación de los dispositivos.
“No se ha pensado en ningún cambio. Los separadores no son dispositivos nuevos en el país. Desde hace años existen, por ejemplo, en la entrada de Escazú se colocaron hace mucho tiempo”, explicó el director de Ingeniería de Tránsito, Junior Araya al medio digital AmeliaRueda.com.
“Los separadores están colocados en lugares en donde los conductores no deben transitar. No cambia nada de la regulación existente. Si los usuarios transitan por el carril que les corresponde, no se tendría ningún inconveniente”, agregó.
Además de los accidentes, la Policía de Tránsito registra dos fallecimientos asociados a los separadores. El primero se dio tan solo un día después de colocados los dispositivos en Guadalupe. Un motorizado perdió el control al colisionar con los separadores lo que provocó la caída de su acompañante que luego fue atropellada por un autobús.
El segundo accidente ocurrió el pasado 23 de enero en Aserrí, donde también un motociclista chocó contra los separadores y al caer a la calle fue atropellado por un carro.
El plan de colocación de separadores fue financiado por el Consejo de Seguridad Vial (Cosevi), su costo fue de ₡90 millones.
