Más de 400 empresas privadas están dispuestas a comprar vacunas contra la Covid-19 y donarlas
“Solo con una aceleración de la vacunación podemos disminuir las muertes que están ocurriendo en el país”, aseguró Álvaro Jenkins de Uccaep.
Si hay algo que le interesa a los empresarios actualmente es que se de la reactivación económica en el país, sin tropiezos como los que provocan las restricciones impuestas por el Gobierno y que no se vea amenazada por otra ola de contagios.
La vacunación masiva es el único remedio a la vista. Por eso más de 460 empresas privadas están dispuestas a comprar las vacunas contra la Covid-19 al costo y donarlas con el propósito de acelerar la campaña de vacunación en Costa Rica.
Además en el encuentro, el sector privado envió información a la Comisión Nacional de Vacunas sobre otras opciones que ofrece el mercado para inmunizar contra la Covid-19.
“Lo que hicimos fue un planteamiento de crear una mesa bipartita junto con autoridades sanitarias del Gobierno para evaluar otras alternativas de importación de vacunas. El interés nuestro, nuestro principal tema de todo el sector privado de todas las organizaciones sociales, estuvimos ahí representadas más de 40 organizaciones sociales en la reunión, es que solo con una aceleración de la vacunación es la única manera que podemos disminuir las muertes que están ocurriendo en el país”, aseguró Álvaro Jenkins, presidente de la Unión Costarricense de Cámaras Empresariales (Uccaep).
Los empresarios indicaron que cuando se concrete una opción de compra e importación que cumpla con los requisitos gubernamentales lo harán saber, además realizaron un ofrecimiento al Ejecutivo de instalaciones, profesionales, soluciones tecnológicas y otras capacidades para acelerar el proceso de vacunación en el país.
Por parte del Gobierno participaron en la reunión: Geannina Dinarte, ministra de la Presidencia; Daniel Salas, ministro de Salud; Pedro González, viceministro de Salud; Román Macaya, presidente de la CCSS y Alexander Solís, presidente de la Comisión Nacional de Emergencias.
Mientras que el sector privado estuvo representado por la Unión Costarricense de Cámaras Empresariales (Uccaep), la Cámara de Industrias, la Cámara Costarricense Norteamericana de Comercio (AmCham), entre otras.
La Iglesia Católica fungió como mediadora en la reunión virtual.
