Luto en la Afición: Muere a los 106 Años el Abuelo del Exjugador, Fiel Seguidor del Equipo Liga
En las últimas horas, el mundo del fútbol lamenta la pérdida de un verdadero ícono: Don Manuel Solano, un liguista de corazón que dejó huella en el deporte y en la vida de muchos. A sus 106 años, su legado perdurará en la memoria de todos aquellos que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.
Nacido el 15 de marzo de 1918 en Tucurrique de Jiménez, Cartago, Don Manuel fue mucho más que un seguidor apasionado de la Liga Deportiva Alajuelense. Casado con Ana María Herrera Luna desde el 6 de diciembre de 1941, fundaron una familia excepcional con 17 hijos, 64 nietos, 69 bisnietos y 15 tataranietos, formando así una verdadera dinastía con 165 descendientes.
Pero su pasión por el fútbol también marcó su trayectoria. Reconocido como un portero destacado en el cantón de Jiménez, su talento lo llevó a ser tentado por equipos como el de Pejibaye, quienes le ofrecieron casa y trabajo para jugar con ellos. Además, su legado trasciende las canchas, ya que es el abuelo del legendario Miguel «Pejibaye» Vargas, quien brilló en La Liga en los años 80 y dejó una huella imborrable en el deporte nacional.
