“Injustificada y vergonzosa”: Así calificó la presidenta de la CCSS la huelga de trabajadores
“Pareciera a veces que se olvida qué es y en qué consiste la existencia de la seguridad social”, manifestó Marta Esquivel.
La presidenta ejecutiva de la Caja Costarricense del Seguro Social (CCSS), Marta Esquivel, se pronunció respecto al movimiento huelguístico que ha sido llevado a cabo por un grupo de trabajadores en diferentes hospitales del país este jueves.
Según informes, hasta el momento, este grupo está conformado por 1,789 empleados, incluyendo a gerentes de áreas como Financiera y Logística, quienes han mostrado su respaldo a la medida.
“Realmente me parece que es anticipado, la Junta Directiva no ha tomado una decisión sobre el tema de exclusivo y excluyente que es el motivo fundamental de este movimiento”, indicó Esquivel.
La presidenta destacó que la Junta Directiva tiene la responsabilidad legal de tomar decisiones fundamentadas y, de hecho, se anunció una extensión del plazo para que esta determinación pueda ser realizada.
Esquivel enfatizó que los costos derivados de las facturas médicas generadas por esta situación serán trasladados a los sindicatos y a los trabajadores que hayan contribuido a la afectación de los servicios internos de la Caja.
Aunque lamentó tener que tomar estas medidas, la presidenta subrayó que su responsabilidad institucional la obliga a garantizar que los servicios de los asegurados no se vean afectados. Recordó también la importancia de la seguridad social y lo que implica su existencia.
