Gobierno de Estados Unidos dona cuatro escáneres a Costa Rica
Tras una reunión bilateral entre Gina Raimondo, Secretaria de Comercio de Estados Unidos, y Laura Richardson, Comandante del Comando Sur de Estados Unidos, con el presidente de la República de Costa Rica, Rodrigo Chaves Robles, se anunció la donación de cuatro escáneres fundamentales en la lucha contra el crimen organizado.
Esta donación no solo incluye los dispositivos físicos, sino también su instalación y la capacitación del personal policial encargado de utilizar esta tecnología de vanguardia, que se espera contribuya en gran medida a fortalecer la seguridad nacional y la soberanía del país.
El presidente Chaves Robles destacó la importancia de esta donación como un reconocimiento a los esfuerzos de Costa Rica en la lucha contra el narcotráfico, así como un testimonio de la estrecha relación entre ambas naciones.
“Es un reconocimiento del país del Norte a los esfuerzos que ha hecho este gobierno para luchar contra el narcotráfico, además gracias a la buena relación que ambos países tienen”, subrayó el mandatario.
La rápida respuesta de Estados Unidos a la solicitud del Gobierno costarricense ha permitido que los escáneres sean instalados en los principales puertos del país sin que esto implique ningún gasto para el erario público costarricense. Esta acción también respalda la determinación del presidente Chaves, quien había asegurado que Costa Rica contarían con escáneres de seguridad a pesar de los obstáculos burocráticos.
