“Espere a que llegue su hombre ideal”: la respuesta de la CCSS a una mujer que quiere esterilizarse
Mujer de 31 años aseguró que los médicos le rechazan las referencias médicas por ser joven y no tener hijos.
Las mujeres que deciden no tener hijos se enfrentan a luchas internas y a una sociedad que las tacha de “egoístas” e “incompletas”. A eso se le suma el rechazo de familiares, amigos y la resistencia de los médicos quienes por más que las pacientes soliciten el procedimiento de esterilización voluntaria lo rechazan más por una decisión personal que por un criterio médico.
Un ejemplo de ello es Alejandra Alcázar, una joven de 31 quien ha vivido en primera persona la cadena de trabas que pone la Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS), al momento de solicitar la esterilización permanente.
“La decisión de no tener hijos yo la tenía antes de haber quedado embarazada. No estaba tan segura como hasta ahora, pero sí después de la experiencia del aborto, y también de ver a mi hermana en su parto natural, que fue lo más traumante que pude haber visto en mi vida», contó Alcázar al portal de noticias.
“Yo he visto la dura tarea que es ser mamá. En mi vida no ha llegado y creo que nunca va a llegar el instinto materno que dicen que todas las mujeres tenemos, yo ya decidí que no quiero tener hijos”, agregó.
“Ella me preguntó que si estaba soltera y le dije que sí, a lo que me dijo ‘ves, tenés que esperar a que llegue tu hombre ideal para ver si cambias de opinión’. Ella no me trató mal, pero ese comentario completamente fuera de lugar, no necesito que nadie me haga cambiar de opinión”, comentó Alcázar.
Al final terminó la cita y la doctora no la apuntó en la lista de espera y mucho menos la refirió para el procedimiento quirúrgico.
Luego de que no calificara para ser operada, los inconvenientes continuaron.
A los pocos meses que le dieron las recetas físicas se le perdieron varios documentos, entre ellos algunos de la CCSS para que le colocaran la inyección anticonceptiva.
Visitó el centro médico para que se los dieran de nuevo, pero la joven aseguró que no quisieron darle los documentos porque no existía un registro electrónico que comprobara que se las habían recetado.
“Como insistí en que me la pusieran, me dijeron ‘no se la voy a poner, esto no es una emergencia, yo no tengo por qué atenderla. Además, usted dice que no tiene pareja sexual entonces para qué la necesita tanto” manifestó la mujer.
Ante la negativa de los funcionarios de la CCSS de colocarle la inyección, tuvo que comprar el medicamento.
“No me quieren operar, ahora salen con que no me quieren inyectar. ¿Qué va a pasar el día de mañana? Voy a ir a que me obliguen a tener un hijo entonces, porque eso prácticamente es lo que me están mandando a hacer, a embarazarme”, acotó la joven.
Luego de tantos obstáculos, la asegurada presentó una queja en la Contraloría de Servicios. Ahí le indicaron que si perdió las recetas tenía que iniciar de nuevo todo el proceso.
Pasaron los meses y Alejandra decidió hacer un nuevo intento, volvió a solicitar la operación.
“Me dice la señora ‘¿cuántos hijos tiene usted?’ Y le dije que ninguno y me dice ‘ay no, entonces no creo que te operen. Yo no estoy de acuerdo con eso, pero la CCSS no opera cuando no tienen hijos porque se pide un máximo de dos. Eso no está escrito en ningún lado, pero por lo general los ginecólogos rechazan las referencias cuando saben que la mujer no ha tenido ningún hijo”, contó.
Hace un mes, Alejandra, por fin consiguió que se enviara la referencia a un médico especialista. Hasta el momento no ha recibido respuesta.
“Al menos yo no me siento preparada psicológicamente para tener un ser humano en mi responsabilidad (…) Ahorita nosotros los jóvenes, o los que estamos tomando esta decisión, vemos que es una responsabilidad que no queremos tomar. Y creo que es la forma más responsable de vivir la vida, ¿qué gana usted teniendo un hijo del que no es capaz de criar?”, finalizó Alcázar.
