¡En tiempo récord! Vecinos ayudan a chancero de 88 años a pagar deuda por perder lotería navideña

La conmovedora historia de don Mario “Marimba” Sibaja, un chancero de 88 años, tuvo un desenlace lleno de esperanza y solidaridad. Después de perder ₡650 mil en billetes de lotería navideña mientras descansaba en las gradas del Banco de Costa Rica, en San Carlos, el adulto mayor se encontró con el apoyo abrumador de la comunidad.
Una campaña de recaudación de fondos, liderada por José Pablo Alpízar, logró recolectar ₡2.5 millones en tiempo récord. Gracias a esta generosidad ciudadana, don Mario pudo saldar su deuda con el dueño de la lotería y aún le queda dinero para cubrir otras necesidades esenciales.
En una emotiva entrega, Alpízar le entregó el dinero en efectivo a don Mario, asegurando que el excedente se depositará en una cuenta del Banco Nacional para su seguridad. Entre las necesidades que don Mario podrá cubrir se encuentran la reparación de su casa, la compra de una lavadora y una cocina, así como provisiones alimenticias para varios meses.
El sobrino del chancero, quien compartió la historia con CRHoy.com, relató que su tío perdió la lotería mientras descansaba debido al agotamiento. A pesar de la pérdida, la respuesta solidaria de la comunidad ha dejado a don Mario agradecido y emocionado.
En sus propias palabras, don Mario expresó su gratitud: “Yo le agradezco a toda la gente que me ayudó en esta maratón, porque yo soy un hombre que anda vendiendo los cabitos de lotería para ayudarme (…) a todos los donadores, me siento feliz y tranquilo, les deseo que Dios me los tenga con salud y que pasen una Feliz Navidad”.
