En Costa Rica, 3 de cada 10 mujeres se encuentran desempleadas
De acuerdo con datos del Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censos.
En el marco de la conmemoración del Día Internacional de la Mujer, este lunes 8 de marzo, el Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censos (INEC) reflexiona sobre el complicado panorama laboral para las damas en el país. Una situación que se ha venido agravando en el último año a raíz de la pandemia de la Covid-19.
De acuerdo con información suministrada por el INEC, tres de cada 10 mujeres se encuentran en condición de desempleo en Costa Rica, esto quiere decir que están en la búsqueda activa de trabajo pero por más esfuerzos que realizan no lo consiguen.
La tasa de desempleo en las mujeres fue de 15,3 %, sin embargo, con la pandemia de la Covid-19 que golpeó fuertemente la actividad económica, el porcentaje se disparó y ahora llega al 25,7 %.
Respecto al subempleo, las personas que trabajan menos de 40 horas por semana aunque quisieran que ese tiempo fuera mayor, en 2019 la cifra era de 13.9 %, mientras que en 2020 aumentó a un 21,3 %.
En 2019, la participación laboral femenina fue de un 50,6 %, mientras que para el año anterior cayó en un 48,1%.
Respecto a la tasa de ocupación pasó de un 42,8 % en 2019 a un 35,9 % durante el 2020.
El INEC, también indicó que la pobreza creció en la mayoría de regiones, en especial en laa familias cuya cabeza de hogar es una mujer.
En la región Huetar Norte pasó de un 33,5 % a un 34,1 %. En la región Chorotega aumentó de 23,9 % a 37,6 %, en el Pacífico Central el porcentaje estuvo en 36,4 % pero ahora se encuentra al 43,7 %.
La región Central reportó 20,2 %, ahora tiene un 27,2 %, la Huetar Caribe pasó de un 37,2 % a un 36,9 % y la región Brunca pasó de un 34,2 % a un 30,8 %.
En 2020, la población femenina correspondió a 2,5 millones, de las cuales, el 50,3 % se concentra en la provincia de San José.
De acuerdo con información brindada por el INEC, la esperanza de vida de las mujeres costarricenses es de 83,2 años.
