El drama de familia costarricense varada en Cuba que vive en precarias condiciones
Andrea Delgado y sus tres hijos quedaron atrapados en la isla sin poder regresar a Costa Rica por la pandemia.
La costarricense Andrea Delgado González y sus tres hijos, Jeyco David, de 8 años; Janoy Andrés, de 6 años y Juan Diego de 4 años, se encuentran varados en Cuba desde febrero del 2020. Con el paso de los días las condiciones en las que viven se hacen más precarias: duermen en el suelo y pasan hambre.
Según informó el diario La Teja, ni la línea aérea con la que viajaron (Copa) ni el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores les han podido ayudar a regresar a Costa Rica.
“En Costa Rica alguien podría pensar que entre junio y setiembre hay poquito tiempo, sin embargo, cuando no se come bien cada día todo se vuelve un calvario. A mí ya nadie tiene que decirme cómo se vive en Cuba, lo estoy experimentando. Conseguir comida es algo muy difícil, así tengas dinero y no quiero ni pensar lo que podría pasar en caso de enfermarse”, agregó.
Delgado se encuentra en la residencia de un familiar de su esposo en el municipio de Placetas, en la provincia de Villa Clara.
En febrero del año anterior, un mes antes de que se detectara el primer caso de Covid-19 en el país, Andrea decidió renunciar a su trabajo en el Hospital San Rafael de Alajuela para viajar a Cuba con su esposo, Hanoy Cordero Rodríguez, quien es cubano.
El matrimonio decidió emprender el viaje con sus tres hijos porque el abuelo de don Hanoy (Pedro Rodríguez) se encontraba con problemas de salud en aquel momento (ya falleció).
Ya en la isla, la familia tico-cubana empezó a vivir momentos de angustia al ver que el Covid-19 tomaba más fuerza y a raíz de eso los aeropuertos de todo el mundo comenzaron a cerrar. Por más que intentaron coordinar el regreso a Costa Rica no pudieron y se quedaron varados en Cuba.
Hace varios meses lograron sacar nuevos pasajes con Copa para este mes, pero una semana antes de la fecha programada (hace dos semanas), la aerolínea les truncó los planes y les indicó que solo tenían espacios disponibles para setiembre por el tema de los aeropuertos cerrados, menos aviones en funcionamiento y menos días autorizados para volar.
Luego Copa les informó que tenían un espacio disponible para regresar a suelo nacional, la familia tomó la difícil situación de separarse y decidieron que Hanoy tenía que regresar.
La idea es que el padre de familia realice las gestiones para que Andrea y sus hijos puedan regresar. Don Hanoy llegó a Tiquicia el pasado 16 de junio.
“Uno en Costa Rica no tiene ni la menor idea de cómo es el asunto aquí en Cuba. Usted puede tener dinero, pero aquí casi nadie vende comida, hay que salir a buscar cómo y dónde conseguir un poco de arroz por aquí, otro poco de frijoles por allá… esto es muy cruel”, acotó Delgado.
“Uno como adulto puede pasar hambres, pero ver a los hijos hambrientos es muy duro, durísimo. Dormimos en el suelo, no hay televisión, radio y el Internet es solo para emergencias. Los vecinos intentan ayudarnos, pero ellos también están pasando problemas económicos, o sea, nadie puede ayudar. Algo de comida nos ha llegado por parte del gobierno cubano, pero eso no alcanza, le dan a uno un kilo de arroz para muchos días y nosotros somos cuatro”, añadió.
La embajada de Costa Rica en Cuba conoce el caso, el cónsul costarricense Marco Vinicio Vargas Carranza ha tenido varias conversaciones con los personeros de Copa, pero no ha sido posible obtener los cuatro espacios para que regresen al país que los vio nacer.
