EE.UU. dona a Costa Rica 8 unidades móviles para lucha contra la Covid-19
Las unidades están valoradas en $361 mil y se entregaron a la CCSS.
La Embajada de Estados Unidos, por medio de su Oficina para Asuntos Antinarcóticos, Seguridad Ciudadana y Justicia (INL, por sus siglas en inglés), entregó a la Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS), el jueves anterior, ocho unidades móviles que complementan y amplían la capacidad de respuesta ante una emergencia.
Cinco de las unidades móviles entregadas miden 6,10 metros x 9.75 metros y las otras tres miden 4.88 metros x 5.49 metros. Sus estructuras son de aluminio de grado aeronáutico, paredes, techo y piso de vinilo impermeable, revestimiento aislante, luces LED y bolsas protectoras y cajas roto-moldeables, para facilitar su traslado y su resguardo.
“Esperamos que estas unidades móviles lleven atención médica a los más necesitados. Nuestro compromiso con Costa Rica y el bienestar de los costarricenses es inquebrantable”, aseguró la Encargada de Negocios de la Embajada de Estados Unidos, Gloria Berbena.
Esta donación es adicional a la de 500 mil dosis de vacunas Covid-19 de Pfizer y los más de cuatro millones de dólares en suministros médicos que Estados Unidos ha donado a Costa Rica desde el inicio de la pandemia y que incluye hospitales móviles y respiradores.
