Eclipse solar anular en Costa Rica: lo que necesita saber
El espectáculo astronómico tendrá una duración de tres horas y media.
Costa Rica se prepara para un espectáculo astronómico que tendrá lugar el próximo 14 de octubre: un eclipse anular solar. Este fenómeno se produce cuando la Luna se sitúa entre el Sol y la Tierra, lo que visualmente permite observar a nuestro satélite natural meterse dentro del disco solar y formar un anillo de Sol a su alrededor.
El clímax del evento astronómico tendrá lugar entre las 10:15 a.m. y la 1:46 p.m. de ese sábado, según explicó al periódico La Nación Alejandra León-Castellá, directora de la Fundación Cientec. El fenómeno tendrá una duración de tres horas y media.
En otras palabras, será en el Caribe norte y sur donde se podrá ver la fase completa de anularidad. Algunos de los lugares donde se podrá observar el fenómeno incluyen Tortuguero, Puerto Viejo, Cahuita, Manzanillo y otras playas cercanas.
El eclipse comenzará a las 10:15 a.m. y alcanzará su punto máximo a las 12:01 p.m. (cuando la Luna cubre más del disco solar y ocurre la anularidad). Todo habrá terminado para la 1:46 p.m. de ese sábado 14 de octubre.
Alejandra León-Castellá hizo énfasis en que, incluso con filtros solares certificados, se debe observar un eclipse por solo cinco segundos y descansar al menos 20 segundos.
Esto debido a que al oscurecerse el ambiente y por el uso de los filtros se provoca una dilatación del iris que puede permitir una mayor entrada de luz y radiación a las retinas.
Cientec planea vender filtros solares certificados que cumplen con la norma ISO 12312-2:2015 y están hechos de polímero plateado-negro resistentes a rayaduras, capaces de filtrar el 100 % de la radiación ultravioleta, el 100% de la infrarroja y el 99,99% de la intensidad de luz visible.
Estos dispositivos generarán una imagen clara y de tono anaranjado del Sol y estarán disponibles para la venta a partir de abril a un precio de ₡ 2.260 por unidad (incluye el impuesto al valor agregado).
