Diputados Acusan al MEP de Maquillar Presupuesto de Educación
Diputados Alertan sobre Recortes en el Presupuesto del MEP: ¿Realmente se Prioriza la Educación?
En un contexto de creciente preocupación por la educación en el país, el presupuesto del Ministerio de Educación Pública (MEP) para el próximo año se verá afectado por un recorte significativo de ¢18.000 millones. A pesar de esto, los representantes del Gobierno, incluidos los Ministerios de Hacienda y Educación, insisten en que no se están reduciendo los fondos destinados a las escuelas y colegios, alegando que la educación sigue siendo una prioridad.
Sin embargo, los diputados de la Comisión de Asuntos Hacendarios afirman que hay un intento de “maquillar” la situación real del presupuesto. Un ejemplo citado es el aumento aparente en las Becas Avancemos, donde se señala que se destinarán ¢13.000 millones más para ayudar a niños en situación de vulnerabilidad. La ministra de Educación, Anna Katharina Müller, explicó que estos recursos provienen del Fondo de Desarrollo Social y Asignaciones Familiares (Fodesaf), lo que significa que no son un aumento real del MEP.
Jonathan Acuña, diputado del Frente Amplio, critica esta estrategia, argumentando que el MEP busca ocultar la realidad de los recortes. Además, la ministra admitió que se necesitarán fondos extraordinarios para cubrir remuneraciones tanto este año como en 2025, lo que indica un posible ajuste mayor en el presupuesto.
En cuanto a los detalles del recorte, se prevé que el MEP destine ¢2.580.414 millones en 2025, en comparación con ¢2.598.415 millones de este año. La reducción más significativa, de más de ¢16.000 millones, afectará a programas de educación preescolar y a los primeros ciclos de educación básica.
La presidenta de la Comisión de Asuntos Hacendarios, Paulina Ramírez, también destacó que habrá recortes en la educación diversificada y en programas especiales, lo que plantea serias dudas sobre el compromiso del Gobierno con la educación.
En el ámbito de la educación superior, el Fondo Especial para la Educación Superior (FEES) no verá incrementos, manteniendo el mismo monto de ¢576.081 millones. Este es el porcentaje más bajo destinado a la enseñanza pública en la última década.
A medida que se discuten estos recortes, los diputados no pueden evitar expresar su frustración. Jonathan Acuña afirmó que las maniobras contables no ocultan la crisis que enfrenta el sistema educativo. Paulina Ramírez subrayó que estos recortes afectan directamente a los estudiantes, lo que pone en tela de juicio la verdadera prioridad del Gobierno en materia educativa.
