Diputado del PUSC propone nuevo símbolo nacional: el caballo costarricense de paso
“Debe ser un símbolo nacional por su historia, belleza y sobre todo porque ha estado por siglos al lado de los costarricenses”, manifestó Alejandro Pacheco.
El diputado y jefe de fracción del Partido Unidad Social Cristiana (PUSC), Alejandro Pacheco, presentó un proyecto de ley para declarar el caballo costarricense de paso como símbolo nacional.
“El caballo costarricense de paso debe ser un símbolo nacional por su historia, belleza y sobre todo porque ha estado por siglos al lado de los costarricenses en el desarrollo de la economía, cultura y de las tradiciones de todos los pueblos”, explicó el diputado.
“Siempre ha estado en nuestras historias, jalando leche, cargas de leña, caña, convirtiéndose en la principal herramienta de los productores y agricultores”, agregó.
Este proyecto pretende que el Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería (MAG) cumpla todas las leyes y convenios internacionales que estén relacionados con la protección y cuido de los caballos.
Además, busca que las instituciones de gobierno, las organizaciones no gubernamentales (ONG´s), empresas privadas y públicas promuevan y colaboren en programas de educación y sensibilización dirigidos a la protección y cuidado del caballo.
“Hay que hacer honor a la yeguada nacional, en particular a la cartaginesa, pie de cría mejorado de lo que existía en el país, que aportó lo suyo al cruzarse con los sementales seleccionados para la búsqueda de un tipo de caballo idealizado”, comentó Pacheco.
La iniciativa, que se tramita bajo el expediente 24.101, contó con el aporte de los miembros de la Asociación de Criadores del Caballo Costarricense de Paso (Ascacopa).
