Diputado de Liberación propone aumento de ₡600 en caja de cigarros
La propuesta consiste en modificar la Ley General de Control de Tabaco y revocar dos leyes adicionales para establecer un único impuesto sobre este producto.
El diputado del Partido Liberación Nacional (PLN), Gilberth Jiménez, presentó un proyecto de ley con el propósito de incrementar el costo de las cajas de cigarros en ₡600.
La propuesta consiste en modificar la Ley General de Control de Tabaco y revocar dos leyes adicionales para establecer un único impuesto sobre este producto.
La iniciativa busca generar un aumento sustancial en la recaudación, estimando un incremento del 27% en comparación con los ingresos actuales. Se proyecta que la recaudación adicional alcance los ₡78.265 millones, en comparación con los ₡61.821 millones actuales.
Los fondos adicionales generados por esta medida se destinarían a diversas instituciones, como la Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS), el Ministerio de Salud, el Instituto Costarricense del Deporte y la Recreación (ICODER), el Instituto sobre Alcoholismo y Farmacodependencia (IAFA) y el Instituto Nacional de Deportes (INDER).
