Conozca las acciones del Gobierno para combatir la inseguridad que azota al país
El anuncio incluye seis proyectos de ley y la ejecución de un préstamo de $5 millones.
Este miércoles el Gobierno de la República anunció la Operación Costa Rica Segura que centra acciones concretas para atacar la inseguridad que azota el país.
Esta operación colocará más policías en la calle. Costa Rica tendrá hasta 9.500 oficiales de la Fuerza Pública como una medida temporal y excepcional por un espacio de seis meses.
También se activará un préstamo de $5 millones para iniciar la construcción del primer Centro de Mando y Control de la Región Centroamericana que reunirá tecnología de punta a disposición de la Policía. A este centro se le sumarán 150 cámaras portátiles para el uso de los oficiales.
Con el apoyo del Instituto Costarricense sobre Drogas (ICD) se utilizarán 600 millones de colones, obtenidos de decomisos al narcotráfico, para la compra inmediata de más patrullas que vienen a reforzar la presencia y movilidad de los policías.
Se enviará a costarricenses a que sean juzgados al país donde cometieron el delito.
Para resguardar la seguridad pública y contener los delincuentes que representan un peligro para la sociedad
Se pretende una mano firme por parte de los jueces y que se envíen a la cárcel a las personas que cometan actos criminales violentos.
Ley de control de armas
No se trata de una limitación al derecho de los ciudadanos honestos de portar armas de manera legal. El portillo que el Gobierno quiere cerrar es para los delincuentes que tengan armas y las lleven consigo.
Modernización de intervenciones telefónicas
Cada vez los asesinos y narcotraficantes tienen mejores tecnologías, en estos momentos no se pueden escuchar las conversaciones de los homicidas y violadores entre otros.
Para adecuar la respuesta de la justicia penal juvenil a los retos de la criminalidad, violencia y delincuencia organizada
Menores de edad relacionados con crimen organizado serán juzgados como adultos.
Del sistema penitenciario nacional
Los privados de libertad violentos deben permanecer en la cárcel, bajo administración del Ministerio de Justicia.
