Científica de la UCR renunció a comité de vigilancia de COVID-19, pero antes le dejó un mensaje a Joselyn Chacón
La experta en virología asegura que la gestión de la ministra de Salud se convirtió en objeto de informes engañosos.
La polémica no deja de seguir a la ministra de Salud, Joselyn Chacón, ya que en las últimas horas se dio a conocer que su “mala gestión”, generó que la experta en virología de la Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR), Eugenia Corrales Aguilar, renunciara al grupo técnico para la vigilancia de COVID-19 y otras enfermedades respiratorias que brinda asesoría al Ministerio de Salud.
La científica por medio de una carta de renuncia bajo el oficio FMic-VIR-ECA-01-2023 y la cual fue presentada este lunes 16 de enero, al despacho de Joselyn Chacón, dio sus motivos y cuestionó las decisiones que ha tomado la ministra en cuanto a la atención de la pandemia y otros virus respiratorios.
“En los últimos meses, su gestión se ha convertido repetidamente en objeto de informes engañosos e incorrectos, se han brindado recomendaciones y cambiado medidas sin revisión ni validación por el grupo técnico”, se lee en la carta de Corrales para Chacón.
Asimismo, la científica, asegura en dicho documento que desde que Joselyn llegó al poder en el Ministerio de Salud, “no ha podido garantizar una asesoría de alta calidad científica que permita al personal de primera línea de defensa contra COVID-19 ni a la población costarricense tomar decisiones y medidas adecuadas en la prevención y mitigación de estas enfermedades”.
La renuncia de Eugenia Corrales, representa una baja importante para el Ministerio, debido a que es calificada como una asesora de alto nivel académico, quien, además, es la coordinadora de la Virología en el Centro de Investigación en Enfermedades Tropicales (CIET).
Asimismo, la experta cumplía una función importante en el comité de vigilancia, ya que le daba seguimiento a la propagación del SARS-COV-2 desde su surgimiento en 2020.
En cuanto al comité de vigilancia, este esta integrado por las doctoras Adriana Torres, y Sandra Delgado Jiménez, del Ministerio de Salud; Olga Arguedas Arguedas, Marcela Hernández de Mezerville, Guiselle Guzmán Saborío y el médico Jorge Chaverri Murillo, de la CCSS; Hebleen Brenes Porras, de Inciensa; y hasta hace poco Eugenia Corrales Aguilar, de la UCR.
