Carlos Alvarado solicita cobro de impuesto de renta al salario escolar

El mandatario de la República, Carlos Alvarado, se mantiene firme en defender la iniciativa de aplicar el impuesto sobre la renta al salario escolar.
Así lo indicó a diferentes medios de comunicación el jueves anterior.
Esta es una de las propuestas fiscales que forma parte de la agenda que el Gobierno negoció con el Fondo Monetario Internacional (FMI).
La iniciativa del mandatario, incluida en el expediente 22.399, eliminaba una serie de exoneraciones y además pretendía cobrar un impuesto a los salarios escolares superiores a los ₡842 mil.
Sin embargo, los diputados que conforman la Comisión de Asuntos Jurídicos votaron el martes anterior mantener el salario escolar exonerado del impuesto sobre la renta.
El congresista del Partido Frente Amplio, José María Villalta, propuso la moción con el apoyo de la diputada oficialista Paola Vega y la liberacionista Franggi Nicolás.
Vega indicó que la medida sería “inhumana” tomando en cuenta que el sector público está enfrentando los ajustes de Reforma Fiscal como el congelamiento de anualidades y de aumentos salariales.
Pese a la resolución de los legisladores, Carlos Alvarado, pide que se revierta esta decisión.
Alvarado descartó avanzar en la propuesta de aplicar un impuesto a los aguinaldos, como lo sugirieron expertos del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID) ante la Asamblea Legislativa.
