Cambio en el Transporte Público: Buses de Guadalupe y Tibás Podrían Dejar de Entrar a San José
Un importante cambio en el sistema de transporte público se avecina para San José. A partir de diciembre de 2025, según un plan piloto del Consejo de Transporte Público (CTP), cuatro rutas de autobuses dejarían de ingresar al centro de la capital. Esta medida también afectaría a las rutas de San Francisco de Dos Ríos y Santo Domingo.
Las rutas en cuestión incluyen Guadalupe-Coronado-Calle-Blancos (y sus ramales), San Francisco de Dos Ríos, Tibás-Santo Domingo de Heredia, y Moravia-Paracito. Esta reorganización busca implementar un modelo de sectorización en el área metropolitana, con el objetivo de mejorar la eficiencia del transporte público.
Freddy Carvajal, director ejecutivo del CTP, explicó que el proyecto busca agrupar las rutas para crear un sistema de transporte más eficiente. En lugar de que todos los autobuses lleguen al centro de San José, el nuevo esquema contemplará servicios alimentadores que conecten los distritos con puntos clave como parques, mientras que los servicios troncales irán directamente al centro.
El plan, que aún está en fase de desarrollo, también debe definir detalles cruciales como horarios, ubicaciones de las nuevas paradas, y la posibilidad de tarifas adicionales para los pasajeros que necesiten hacer transbordos. Carvajal aseguró que se trabajará para mantener el costo lo más bajo posible para los usuarios y se está en conversaciones con la Autoridad Reguladora de los Servicios Públicos (Aresep) para establecer una tarifa única.
Además, el CTP está considerando la implementación de pagos electrónicos y un proceso de divulgación con las comunidades y asociaciones locales. También se coordinará con la Policía de Tránsito, el Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Transportes, y los gobiernos locales para asegurar una transición fluida.
Otros cambios propuestos en la administración pasada incluyen la eliminación del ingreso al centro para rutas como San Pedro-Curridabat-Tres Ríos, Hatillo-Alajuelita, Escazú-Santa Ana, Desamparados, Pavas, Uruca-Heredia, y Paso Ancho-San Sebastián. Los detalles sobre cuándo se implementarán estos cambios aún están pendientes.
