Banco Central Baja Tasa de Política Monetaria a 4,25%: Impacto en el Crédito y Economía Nacional
El Banco Central de Costa Rica (BCCR) anunció una rebaja en la Tasa de Política Monetaria (TPM), ajustándola 50 puntos base para situarla en 4,25%. Esta decisión responde a la baja inflación en el país y a un contexto internacional favorable, donde se prevé una reducción en los precios del petróleo en el corto plazo.
El recorte de la TPM, que es el más bajo desde junio de 2022 cuando alcanzó un 4%, refleja la intención del Banco Central de incentivar el crédito y dinamizar la producción. Según Roger Madrigal, presidente del BCCR, otro factor que influyó en la medida fue la reciente decisión de la Reserva Federal de los Estados Unidos de reducir sus tasas de interés, lo que genera condiciones más favorables para ajustar la política monetaria local.
TPM: ¿Qué es y cómo impacta?
La Tasa de Política Monetaria es el interés que el Banco Central cobra en sus operaciones a un día en el Mercado Integrado de Liquidez, y su influencia se extiende a las tasas de interés que los bancos comerciales ofrecen al público. Una reducción en esta tasa no solo abarata el costo de los créditos para los consumidores, sino que también tiene el potencial de reactivar la producción. Sin embargo, un aumento en la demanda puede traer consigo una mayor inflación, por lo que este movimiento es parte de un delicado equilibrio económico.
Perspectivas Económicas Positivas
El Banco Central espera que esta reducción en la TPM beneficie tanto a individuos como a empresas, facilitando mejores condiciones de financiamiento y alentando el crecimiento económico. Aunque la medida podría generar un incremento en la inflación, el entorno internacional con precios de petróleo a la baja ayuda a mitigar este riesgo.
