Así interceptaron los guardacostas el millonario cargamento de cocaína
Un grupo de narcotraficantes se quedó sin su valioso cargamento de drogas gracias a la rápida intervención de los oficiales del Servicio Nacional de Guardacostas de Costa Rica. Durante un patrullaje en las aguas cercanas al Golfo Dulce, los guardacostas interceptaron y decomisaron más de 700 kilos de cocaína y marihuana que habían sido arrojados al mar y estaban listos para ser recogidos.
El Ministerio de Seguridad Pública informó que la operación tuvo lugar este martes, a unas 15 millas náuticas de la entrada al golfo, donde los oficiales del Grupo de Apoyo de Operaciones Especiales lograron adelantarse a los narcotraficantes. La droga, que estaba atada a una radioboya, fue encontrada distribuida en varios bultos, lo que evitó que llegara a su destino final.
El cargamento incautado fue trasladado a Golfito, donde las autoridades, en conjunto con el Ministerio Público y la Policía de Control de Drogas, confirmaron que consistía en 677 paquetes de cocaína y 30 paquetes de marihuana, cada uno con un peso aproximado de un kilo.
Desde 2015, las autoridades costarricenses han estado al tanto de esta técnica, que implica el uso de dispositivos como radioboyas para facilitar la entrega de drogas en alta mar. Gracias a los esfuerzos preventivos del Servicio Nacional de Guardacostas, varios cargamentos han sido interceptados antes de que los narcotraficantes lograran recogerlos.
