Aresep pone pausa a rebaja de pasajes para proteger las finanzas de los buseros
El ente regulador asegura que la decisión busca preservar la continuidad del transporte público.
La Autoridad Reguladora de los Servicios Públicos (Aresep) pospuso la rebaja nacional en las tarifas de los autobuses con el objetivo de cuidar las finanzas de las empresas de transporte.
Según informa el periódico La Nación, en la resolución RE-0043-IT-2021 del 8 de julio, el intendente de Transportes, Édward Araya Rodríguez, congeló la reducción de 4,76% promedio en las tarifas “hasta tanto las condiciones actuales muestren un cambio positivo”. Esto en referencia a la afectación económica que ha tenido el sector de los autobuseros producto de la pandemia de la Covid-19.
De 3.837 tarifas vigentes, a 3.062 se les debía rebajar de ₡5 a ₡50, a otras 538, entre ₡55 y ₡100, y a 139 más se les debía de reducir de ₡105 a ₡200 en favor de los pasajeros.
También, había 83 tarifas que sufrirían una rebaja entre ₡205 y ₡350, mientras que 15 pasajes experimentarían una reducción de entre ₡355 y ₡425.
De acuerdo con el documento, la Intendencia realizará informes de seguimiento cada tres meses para: «determinar si la situación sanitaria y del sector autobusero presentan condiciones diferentes a las actuales que permitan la aplicación del ajuste tarifario sin afectar la continuidad en la prestación del servicio».
El propósito de la medida es preservar la continuidad del transporte público, ya que desde el mes de noviembre seis operadores renunciaron a la prestación de servicio en ocho rutas argumentando una complicada situación económica.
“Ante esta situación, aplicar el ajuste propuesto en las tarifas en este momento, según lo sometido a audiencia pública, constituye un riesgo de que otras empresas se sumen a las que ya han renunciado a sus rutas”, añade el intendente.
