Acusan a sacerdote por presunto abuso de menor durante una década en Desamparados

Este lunes 16 de septiembre, se presentó una denuncia penal contra el sacerdote Reiner Castro Flores por presuntos delitos sexuales en perjuicio de un menor de edad. La denuncia fue interpuesta ante el Ministerio Público de Desamparados, según reveló Rodolfo Alvarado, abogado del caso.
Alvarado señaló que los supuestos abusos comenzaron cuando la víctima tenía 15 años, durante el tiempo en que Castro vivía y trabajaba en la casa cural de Los Guido, en Desamparados. Según el abogado, los abusos habrían ocurrido de forma repetida a lo largo de aproximadamente 10 a 12 años.
El lunes fue formalmente presentada la denuncia penal, y el 17 de septiembre, Alvarado tiene previsto interponer un juicio ordinario civil en el Circuito Judicial de San José. Este nuevo proceso buscará responsabilizar civilmente a la Iglesia Católica, así como a Monseñor José Rafael Quirós, arzobispo de San José, por su supuesta responsabilidad en los hechos.
La Curia Metropolitana y Monseñor Quirós fueron consultados sobre el caso por crhoy.com, pero indicaron que preferirán no hacer declaraciones hasta recibir una notificación formal sobre el asunto.
Por su parte, el sacerdote Reiner Castro Flores respondió a las acusaciones mediante un comunicado personal. En el documento, aseguró haber sido objeto de «falsas afirmaciones» desde principios de 2023 y que ha recopilado evidencia de dichas acciones. Además, mencionó haber recibido un supuesto plazo de 15 días para «negociar» a fin de evitar la denuncia penal, algo que calificó como un «intento de extorsión».
